Modifying Shaders

Post by El Poncho » Thu Oct 27, 2011 9:31 pm

I added a few custom textures, but I'm having a lot of difficulty finding the parameters or the things you can change by modifying shaders.

The current texture is a grass/dirt texture that I'd like to use and make it sound like dirt when running on it and have dirt fly when you shoot it. Is there a good tutorial on creating shaders for your custom textures as far as what can be modified etc?

Thanks Ringo!

That's been the biggest struggle for me getting back into mapping. I'm even finding posts that I made in forums years ago with answers to the same questions I have now...lol

Or...I'm finding I did something that worked in the past, and can't remember how I got there or did it. I'm sure I'll find a lot of that when I get to the scripting...

That will definitely be a very valuable resource. Especially being able to have things in one place. There's a just a lot of random stuff out there, so weeding out the bad links and finding the appropriate stuff is time consuming! 8)

Thanks for all your hard work!
