Allright ! ,

sum updates ..
year 15 i believe , still going on with .. 8 people ( players )
i might say .. a very solid and hardcore fanbase every sundays

tonight we had 5 players but like any sunday a ton of fun ..
i know alot of u also have a personal life , some u might say a demanding life eg a very busy one , like myself , i have 2 jobs , 2 kids and a ton of work besides the regular ..KEEP THE SUNDAYS UP !

anyway , we've expanded the server base , the wildwest master server still is a bit down ( due to my lazyness .. sorry ) ( the master server is responsible for ingame server lists , and since my personal situation i have not been able to change this )

so for the record :
the primary EU server has been moved to a different ip : 83.149.68.120
the secondary EU server ip 83.149.68.114 ( this server is for testing and if the primary server is down )
the Primary US server still remains the same , and in need of some maintanance ( stuck on ctf rotation )

on my todo list is the following :

update the website with new download links
update the scanner (connector ) to add the new ip's
fix the rotation bug on US server
generate a new installation package for people
get more people to play
make more maps
finish the ET port

If it was up to me, I'd prioritize this list like this:

1. Make actually usable (Gunte's feature set: custom content (map) auto-downloader, colored player counter?) game scanner
2. Create solid game installer (few megabyte/kilobyte installer which grabs all the files needed from dedicated server, so you don't have to download anything manually?)
3. Fix server rotations (and remove the useless Punkbuster from all of them!)

Hi there,

I am new to this forum and tried to join the servers for the Sunday 21:00 game but did not see any servers in the server list.

Using latest wild west version: WildWest 1.613 (Windows)
Firewall access to Wolf & Wildwest is granted

Used to play Wildwest back in the days in 2007 and would love to play again on a more regular basis again now in 2017.

Any advice how to join is appreciated, thx!

pardonemmoi amgio,

glad to see you on the forums .. its been a while for me to write some updates ,

in general the ingame browser has been wrecked up since 1.5 ( ID master server issue ) .. we also have a wildwest master server , but its currently down for maintanance ,

so what do you do to join the game :

take notice of the 2 server , 1 = eu.the-wildwest.eu
and 2 = us.the-wildwest.eu

once the game is up n running press the Tilde sign ( ~ )
which brings down the console

then type /connect eu.the-wildwest.eu

the 1.6 fix ingame server browser is fixed

however due to some personal circumstances ive not been able to host the master server

technically explination

the wildwest master server , cannot be hosted on the same subnet
the wildwest master server is based on DP master server

to explain the basics , RTCW basic installation , looks for the master server ( u can view that in console ) , since the original master server crashed in 2004 , ID changed the states and dropped the RTCW entirely ./. in the RTCW console ull notice something like "sending heartbeat to "

similar has happend to the wildwest , originally hewster coded it to pointed the master to the same server , resulting in to too much results , in addition he created an additional protocol ,
EG , quake3 = protocol 80 , quake3 patch 1 is protocol 81 , rtcw 1.3 is protocol 85 , etc etc , the protocol is based for the master server and the ingame browser to be able to filter results

in 2012 me and hewster re-coded that bit , since there are no master servers available for RTCW , i hosted the master on several servers

to get back at the first paragraph , im hosting 230 servers , every server has a public adress , eg 213.123.123.0 troughout 231
meaning , 213.123.123.1 <-> 231 is a server , however , every server is natted and firewalled .. the DP master server , cannot handle a natted connection , and also an internal connection between servers is impossile

which left me to point out the wildwest master to a location which was out of my juristiction .. which has changed alot ..

the wildwest master server is now hosted on a seperate datacenter , however its not reachable for the clients.. this is due to datacenter regulations .. and i have been struggling for this a long time ,,

so ill keep you posted for an easy fix .. bare with me though ..
