Hi All

As some have experienced the PB on the Hang em High server will bounce you if your PB is not up to date. The server is at the latest update and the client is not.

You need to go to: http://evenbalance.com/downloads/rtcw/pbsec.htm

Download this this file and place it in:

For standalone:
program files /wildweststarter/pb

For retail:
Return to Castle Wolfeinstein /pb

Let me know if you have any questions....

i tried to turn it on dorado some weeks ago. My client didn't worked eventhough it works fine on hangthem - weird.

Think we keep it off soo new people won't have any problem. And i think it is going to work because we are only few players and it is easy to control/manage cheating. You can't ban people better with pb as long we talking about the SA version - Ban script is just as effective and ip ban is a good solution i guess.

Quite another problem if we were 5000 players on 20 servers. Then the pb autokick/ban function would be convenient.

another problem...

the wildwest settings are beneath the pb kicking level ..

in addition making PB functional 1000% would need additonal testing :)

My thought, worth about two cents, would be to leave PB off the dorado server. As is the axiom , the more that is added the more complexity there is and the higher potential for glitches and problems. (This isn't to say it's nothing Gunte couldn't handle - I'm sure nothing would be!) Especially for noobs though, getting kicked for no apparent reason and having to fiddle with updates, I think is kind of a turn off.

And as for me, I don't really care for the clever scripts or software that try to "Bust the punk!" yet mostly succeed in fowling up the good folks gaming experience. Especially if Gunte feels there's a good way to ban those really intent on cheating, then I'd say skip it.

There is some problem turn it on and off - you need to do it with rcon and kill the server etc.

I turned it off on HeH. Works fine without pb now :D. If nessasary we implement the kick/ban script on HeH too - its just a little change -- No free ride for outlaws hehe..
