Intermittent Freezing

Post by Hfx-Rebel » Tue Jan 31, 2012 2:38 am

Whenever a player from the other team gets close, I freeze...can't do anything; It lasts for about 1-2 seconds. When this happens, the music or whatever audio is going on, loops or skips. Pain in the ass when a bandit drops in on a cowpoke...

Any ideas?

does this happen on both servers?

This used to happen on my old dell computer. it would go freeze go freeze....

For me it turned out to be a bad gfx card....

Make sure your gfx card has the latest software updates and see if that helps....

I checked the drivers when the server booted me on the map change; I have the latest drivers, but I did notice that the ide controller had no driver...fixed that last night, but didn't get the chance to test it out afterwards. And yes, both servers, it did it to me when I was playing Karen on the EU server as well.

Indecently, just to make sure my memory is right, do these settings sound right?:

snaps - set to 40
hunkmegs - set to 500
fps - set to 100 or 125 (can't remember)

Anything else that can tweeked in the cfg?

Damn, forgot all about those two, shouldn't there be a number with the maxpackets?

u need to fiddle around with that .. 150 prolly the max .. my advice is to start with a higher value then currently set and go from there .. adding increments of 10

I'll work on that this evening. Maybe I'll be lucky enough to see someone in the server so I can check my progress...
